Login Help/Password Reset

Students will have only one username and password for use with MyRCC / E-Learning, Email, Microsoft Office, Pharos and computer login. A recent update we made is we now only use one username and password for the main software/programs we use at RCC. This excludes 3rd Party programs that may not be directly connected to RCC. 

Attention New Students

If you are a new student and need assistance with receiving your student email and password, please reach out to the Helpdesk via the following methods:

  • Email: helpdesk@rcc.mass.edu; The message is converted into a ticket
  • Call: 857-701-1555. Please leave a detailed message if there is no answer. The message is converted into a ticket.
  • Once you receive your username, email address and password, please use the links below to access your email.

Student Username Format 

Student username will be first initial, middle initial (if applicable), last name. Your username will be used to log in to MyRCC, Pharos, Office 365 where you can access your email by clicking Outlook. Student Username are made up of the first initial followed by middle initial (if provided) and then last name. 

  • example: John J. Smith = jjsmith (all lower case and nospaces) 
  • example: Jane J. Smith = jjsmith1 (in case of duplicate, a number will be added incrementally) 
  • example: Jane Smith = jsmith (if no middle initial provided)  

There is a default password (for new students only) to be used the first time you log in to your MyRCC account.
If you are a new/existing student or have attended RCC and you do not remember your password, please contact the helpdesk. Helpdesk contact information is below. 

Office 365 login: click here or navigate to https://login.microsoftonline.com 

  • Use your email address to login (example: Username@rcc.mass.edu)
  • Once you logon to Office 365 please click on Outlook to access your email

MyRCC is RCC’s self-service student and faculty portal. This is where students can register for classes, see their schedule, make payments, access course materials, view grades, get an unofficial transcript and keep abreast of RCC’s student events. 

All student information is maintained in RCC’s ERP system, Jenzabar, and made available through the MyRCC web portal. This system is the engine that drives all administrative processes for Admissions, Advising, Registration, Scheduling, Financial Aid, Finance, and eLearning. MyRCC provides a common platform for faculty, staff and student interaction and allows students to manage their academic information.

New student's should have received a welcome letter with their login information. 
There is a default password to be used the first time you log in to your student email account. If you have forgotten your username or password, please make sure to contact the Helpdesk.

To change your Password please use the Office365.com password reset tool.

The RCC student e-mail system is powered by Office 365. All RCC students are assigned an e-mail account. This is RCC’s official electronic messaging system for students and the only e-mail the college will use to communicate important school information.

NOTE: E-mail accounts for new students may take up to 48 hours to become active.

BEST PRACTICE: We recommend that you enroll in Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) and you change your password to something more secure and something you will remember. Email set-up for Mobile Devices 

How to setup email on my smart device: Set up Office apps and email on a mobile device

Pharos is Roxbury Community College’s student printing system. This is installed in all computer labs across campus. Every registered student receives a Pharos account that allows s[he] to print 200 pages for free each semester. You can use your MyRCC username and password to login to Pharos computers. If you are still having problem, contact ITS helpdesk.

Printing from the Library

  • When print window appears, make sure the Library laptop printer is selected and click “OK”.
  • The Print Job Details window will appear, enter your RCC username in the ID field and name your print job.
  • Click “Print”
  • Go to the student print release computer and enter your RCC username and Password on the print computer.
  • Click “Enter”
  • Click on “Print a Document”
  • Your print job should be visible, select it.
  • Click “Print”.

Printing from a lab 

  • Log on to your lab computer 
  • rom the computer you’re working on, Print the Documents you want. 
  • Go to the student print release computer and enter your RCC username and Password on the print computer. 
  • Click “Enter” 
  • Click on “Print a Document” 
  • Your print job should be visible, select it. 
  • Click “Print”. 

RCC uses MS365 suite of services and tools for communication, collaboration amongst other functions within the O365 suite of tools.  

The service includes Office 365 Apps both online and you can download and install on your computer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Team and OneNote), 1TB of OneDrive storage, Yammer, and SharePoint sites, etc. 

Update: All Students, Faculty and Staff will all use Office365 for email and Microsoft Office Products.

Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft-delivered feature that allows an enrolled user the ability to reset their own password.

Enrolling in Self Service Password Reset (SSPR)

  1. Open the web browser on your device and go to the Office365 (https://www.office.com/).
  2. When prompted, enter your RCC email and your password.
  3. Go to My Account on the top right-hand side where your initial are located.
  4. Go to Security Info and select 'Set up Self-Service Password Reset'
  5. Setup the Authentication for both Phone and Email.
  6. All Set Now you are able to reset your passrd on you own from anywhere!

Setting Up Alternative Authentication Phone (call or text)

  1. Select the “Set it up now” link next to “Alternative Phone…”.
  2. Set your Region Code [typically United States (+1)].
  3. Enter Your Phone Number. 
  4. Select either the “Text Me” or “Call Me” button to verify the phone number (only one option needs to be completed)

4.1 Text Me Option 
4.1.1. Enter the code received in a text and select the “Verify” button.
4.1.2. If successful, you will be returned to the initial setup screen.  
 
4.2. Call Me Option  
4.2.1. Answer your phone.
4.2.2. When prompted on the phone, hit the “#’ key.  
4.2.3. If successful, you will be returned to the initial setup screen 

Setting Up Alternative Authentication Email

  1. Select the “Set it up now” link next to “Alternative Email…”.
  2. Enter an email address other than your work email account.
  3. Select the “email me” button.
  4. Get the verification code from this email account and enter in the verification field and then select the “Verify” button.

Setting Up Security Questions

  1. Select the “Set them up now” link next to “Security Questions…”.
  2. Choose five questions and provide answers.
  3. After completing all questions, select the “save answers” button.

Finish

Once you have completed your choice of settings, select the “finish” button to continue to other applications. It is important to complete this step, or your changes will be lost.

Note: You may be prompted for your password again after you select the “finish” button.

To Update Your Settings

  1. Return to Office365
  2. Go to you account
  3. Follow the instructions above for each setting
  4. Select the “finish” button when you are complete
