2022 Commencement at RCC

RCC Commencement

The 46th commencement ceremony at Roxbury Community College (RCC) was held on May 13, 2022, marking the return of in-person indoor graduation exercises. Returning to the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center was an important step in recognizing the difficult path our graduates navigated by continuing their studies through uncertain times. More than 150 graduates earned their degrees and joined the ranks as our prestigious alumni.

During the history-making commencement, each graduate received a generous $1,000 donation from keynote speaker Rob Hale Jr, co-owner and director of the Boston Celtics. The gift presented each student with an opportunity to continue philanthropic efforts, when Hale challenged each graduate to donate half to an organization or individual of their choosing.

The 2022 commencement ceremony also presented the College with an opportunity to honor local officials for their continued support of RCC.  Representative Elizabeth “Liz” Malia of the 11th Suffolk District received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her 24+ years of supporting RCC and our students.  City Councilor Tania Fernandez Anderson of District 7 received the Community Service Award in recognition of her support of Roxbury and RCC students.
