Roxbury Community College student Quiana N. Wilson achieved a distinction rarely seen, earning two prestigious scholarships from Phi Theta Kappa. Her accomplishment includes recognition as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Academic Team and being named the 2026 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar for Massachusetts. Selected from more than 2,300 nominees, Wilson will receive a $3,000 scholarship.

As the top community college transfer scholar in the state, Wilson’s New Century award places her among the highest-achieving students nationwide. In total, Wilson will receive a scholarship award, a commemorative medallion, and national recognition across multiple media outlets. Being selected for the All-USA Academic Team reflects her academic excellence, leadership, and service.

"The All-USA program is a prestigious recognition of a student's exceptional abilities both in and outside of the classroom,” Amanda Karpinski-Gorman, Director of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation, said. “These students are selected for their resilience, creativity, and ingenuity in tackling global and local challenges. We are incredibly proud of the individuals named to the 2026 team and eagerly anticipate the continued impact they will make."

In April, the awards will be formally presented during Phi Theta Kappa’s Presidents Breakfast at the Seattle American Association of Community Colleges Convention. In addition, Roxbury Community College will send Wilson to Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst in Baltimore, where she will be recognized among the nation’s top community college scholars.

Wilson will graduate from Roxbury Community College in Spring 2026 with an associate degree in Liberal Arts, having earned multiple consecutive 4.0 semesters during what she describes as an academic resurgence. Her journey reflects resilience, discipline, and renewed purpose; “this is evidence of opportunity meeting preparation. As long as you don’t give up before it happens,” says Wilson.

Grounded in her faith and driven by purpose, Wilson is passionate about mentorship, storytelling, and expanding access to higher education for students from underrepresented communities. An avid chess enthusiast, she embraces strategy and lifelong learning; the principles that guide both her leadership today and her aspirations for the future. Currently serving as a Transfer Student Ambassador, Wilson plans to matriculate to Northeastern University in Fall 2026, where she will pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communication and Media.

Wilson’s achievement marks a proud moment for Roxbury Community College and underscores the strength, talent, and determination of its students.
