The Roxbury Community College Public Safety Department provides protection to the campus community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Public Safety staff work with community members to prevent crime, solve problems, and take proactive steps to make Roxbury Community College as safe as possible.
The Public Safety Department is mainly comprised of public safety officers contracted through a security firm. They are overseen by a Director of Public Safety and a staff who are sworn police officers. The Public Safety Department provides a variety of services to the RCC community such as escorts, parking passes, ID badges, crime prevention and investigation, and emergency response services.
Roxbury Community College complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), which is a federal law requiring most colleges and universities nationwide to publish statistics in order to inform the campus community about certain criminal offenses committed on or near campus.
