Mentoring for Success – for Mentors
If you are interested in being a PEER-MENTOR, you SHOULD:
- Be an RCC alumna/alumnus OR
- Be a current RCC student who has completed 2 semesters at RCC and has a minimum 3.2
GPA
- Be at least 21 years old
- Be willing to complete the Mentoring for Success screening process in its entirety
- Be interested in working one-on-one with a first-generation college student at RCC
- Be willing to communicate regularly with program staff
- Be willing to adhere to all program policies and procedures
- Be knowledgeable and familiar with RCC student-resources and student support services
- Be interested in giving back to the RCC community through sharing your knowledge and
advice with a student-mentee
- Be dependable and consistent in making and keeping time commitments with mentee and
program staff
- Be willing to make the time commitments below.
Time Commitment:
- 2 hours of Peer-Mentor Training prior to being matched
- 1 hour/week meetings with your Mentee
- 2 semester-long mentoring relationship
- Opportunities to engage in fun activities both on-and-off campus
