Updated COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols
            
            Roxbury Community College lifted the COVID-19 vaccination requirement on Saturday,
               May 13, 2023.  While this vaccination requirement is no longer in effect, we are continually
               monitoring health guidance and data including community metrics, and will continue
               efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19
            
            RCC’s health and safety protocols incorporate the CDC’s COVID-19 guidance. RCC community
               members are not required to quarantine when exposed to COVID-19; rather, you should
               wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day five (5). 
            
            
               
               - If exposed to COVID-19, you are no longer required to quarantine; rather you should
                  wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day five (5).
- Masks are available at the Public Safety Department (Building 3, First Floor).
- If you test positive for COVID-19, take the following steps:
                  
                  
                     
                     - Alert RCC by emailing COVID-19@rcc.mass.edu.
                        
                        
                           
                           - Note: Because both the CDC and MA DPH are no longer encouraging formal contact tracing,
                              the College is no longer sending data on COVID-19 cases to the MA DPH.
 
 
- Stay home (isolate) for five (5) days.
                  
                  
                     
                     - If after five (5) days you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication,
                        and your symptoms are improving, or you never had symptoms, you may end isolation
                        after day five (5).
- Regardless of when you end isolation, avoid being around people who are more likely
                        to get very sick from COVID-19 until at least day 11.
- You should wear a high-quality mask through day 10.
- After you have ended isolation, if your COVID-19 symptoms worsen, restart your isolation
                        at day 0. Talk to a healthcare provider if you have questions about your symptoms
                        or when to end isolation. 
 
- If you are exposed to a COVID-19-positive individual at RCC, you will be notified
                  by COVID-19@rcc.mass.edu.
- Subject to the guidance above, including the requirement to wear a mask if exposed,
                  RCC is a mask-optional environment.
COVID-19 is one of many transmittable diseases that affects that the RCC community;
               the flu and common cold are also easily transmittable illnesses.  If you are sick
               or symptomatic with any illness, if possible, please stay home.  If you must come
               into the College for work or class when you are experiencing symptoms, you are encouraged
               to wear a mask to protect yourself and others.
