Academic advising begins the moment you enroll at Roxbury Community College (RCC). Your Academic Advisor is your partner throughout your educational journey and is here to help you make informed decisions, overcome challenges, and achieve your academic, career, and personal goals.
Whether you are selecting your first semester of classes, exploring majors, preparing to transfer, or planning for graduation, your advisor is available to provide guidance, answer questions, and connect you with the resources you need to be successful.
Finding Your Advisor
All students enrolled in a degree or certificate program are assigned either an Academic Advisor/SUCCESS Advisor or a Faculty Advisor.

When Should I Meet with My Advisor?
Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor at least twice each semester. Regular advising appointments help ensure you remain on track toward completing your degree or certificate and allow you to address questions before they become barriers to your success.

Scheduled appointments provide dedicated time to discuss academic planning, degree progress, transfer planning, career exploration, and long-term educational goals.
Drop-in advising is designed for quick questions or immediate needs, such as registration assistance, schedule changes, form signatures, or referrals to campus resources. Because drop-in advising is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, students may experience longer wait times during peak periods, including registration and the beginning of each semester. Students with more complex advising needs may be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure they receive adequate time and individualized support.
