The Arts and Humanities/Theater Arts concentration prepares students for transfer
to a four-year college or university to pursue a variety of majors in theater arts
education (performance, technical theater, theater management, theater history, and
criticism). The background provided by study in these areas is also helpful for students
considering undergraduate and/or graduate-level education in theater arts education
or administration. A bachelor’s degree is essential to obtain entry-level positions
in teaching. However, an associate’s degree is the minimum requirement for individuals
pursuing a career in performing, technical theater, and theater arts management. Patience,
understanding, and the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing are
also necessary. A multitude of career opportunities exists for those with a bachelor’s
degree in Theater Arts, including teaching, performing, advertising, writing, publishing,
theater business management, and research and development. For more information about
