HiSET/GED Exam Prep

SPRING SESSION STARTS: January 29, 2022  **VIRTUAL COURSES**

Don't have a high school diploma? Don't let it hold you back from reaching your goals! Take the next steps for your future with preparation classes for the High School Equivalency Test.

*These courses will be offered virtually. This means that there are scheduled class meeting times for students to utilize Zoom and access live instruction online. Students should have basic computer skills, a computer/laptop/tablet with a camera, microphone, and Internet access. Students are responsible for downloading Zoom and creating an account prior to the first class.*

  • You can take free practice tests through HiSET and/or GED. This will give you a better idea of what to expect from the exam, your current level of preparedness, and which subject(s) you may need help with. Students can use this to guide which prep classes they would like to register for. Students are able to pick and choose which prep subjects to register for at their own pace.
  • Do you have a high school diploma from your home country? If so, you can have it evaluated through CED to see if it meets requirements here in the US. (RCC does not have any affiliation with CED)
  • Our HiSET/GED classes are not ESOL English classes. Classes are taught in English and are intensive preparation classes. Learn more about our Community ESOL English classes, HERE.
  • Our prep classes are currently virtual through Zoom. Students will maximize their success in the virtual classes if they have access to a computer or tablet since screen sharing will be utilized to view sample test questions. This may be difficult to fully view on a smartphone.
  • There is no requirement to take classes prior to taking the exam, but many students opt to supplement their own studying with our classes to feel more prepared. Roxbury Community College is a testing center that offers both the HiSET and GED Exam. Learn more about the differences HERE. To register for the exam without taking preparation classes, please go to: HiSET: www.hiset.ets.org  |  GED: www.ged.com
