Massachusetts General Law (Chapter 23) requires that any student registered for 9 or more credits must be enrolled in a health insurance plan. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires you to submit your health insurance information to the College via online electronic submission. Please log into: www.gallagherstudent.com/RCC
Students who are taking fewer than nine credits at Roxbury Community College are not required to enroll in the health insurance plan.
If you enroll for the fall semester, you have until November 30th, 2026 to complete the health insurance waiver process. Students who enroll for the spring semester have until March 30th, 2027. Failure to waive the health insurance charge by the approved deadline will result in the insurance charges remaining on your bill. Students who do not have a qualified health insurance plan are required to enroll in the Roxbury Community College Student Health Insurance Plan provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield via Gallagher Student Health.
International Students are required to purchase the school's insurance coverage, unless they have alternate coverage that meets state requirements, that is from a US based carrier. Insurance from another country, travel insurance or accident insurance is not acceptable and does not meet state requirements.
MassHealth may qualify as a comparable coverage, but that determination is made by MassHealth. Free care that is provided by hospitals and community health centers does not qualify as adequate coverage.
Please Note: You cannot waive the student health insurance if you are covered by out of state Medicare, MassHealth Limited, Health Safety Net, Children's Medical Security Plan and free care.

Students may waive coverage by going to https://www.gallagherstudent.com/students. Sign in or register on the website and complete all applicable information, and a confirmation email will be sent to you by Gallagher. Please keep a copy of your confirmation email for your records. If you do not waive your health insurance by the published deadline, you will be responsible for the health insurance charge and any other fees or charges associated with your student account.
