Health & Wellness

Health & Wellness at RCC

We know that academic success is only possible when you are healthy, both mentally and physically.  RCC provides all students with access to a variety of health and wellness resources.

Health Services

The Health Services Office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. A registered nurse is on duty to provide emergency and routine treatment for common illness and injuries, i.e., colds, headaches, sprains and lacerations. Students with more complex health problems are referred to other health care facilities for more comprehensive care. Health and wellness education and disease prevention are additional activities of Health Services and may include blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, weight management, health fairs, AIDS awareness, and smoking cessation programs. Services are available on a free, walk-in basis.

Project Access

Project Access at Roxbury Community College provides our students with a variety of resources and services, FREE of charge.

Our goal is to provide our students with holistic support to address the non-academic issues that often prevent degree completion.

Are you a current student? Please visit the Project Access page for more resources in the Current Students section of the website.

Immunizations

Massachusetts General Law requires all full-time students (12 or more credits), and all Health Sciences and International Students to provide proof of immunization against specific diseases. The required immunizations are: Tdap (booster within the past ten years); two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella); three doses of Hepatitis B and two doses of varicella (chickenpox). Tuberculosis requirements must be completed by all Health Sciences students and International Students. The Admissions Office will provide students with the Immunization and Medical History Form for completion by the health care provider and the Medical History Record Form for completion by the student.
