Description

The Healthy Families Home Visitor is responsible for carrying out direct services to clients on a home visitation basis to support young families, promote positive parenting skills, encourage child development and promote parent economic self-sufficiency. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:  parent and child screenings, parenting education, case management, program development and other services consistent with program objectives. 

Required Skills

  • To be successful in this position you will need the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Must be bilingual (Spanish-English) and be comfortable conducting home visits in both English and Spanish.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable working in all of Boston’s neighborhoods.
  • Mature, dependable individual with sound judgment, warm, nurturing style, and ability to establish trusting relationships.
  • Respectful of individual and cultural differences and interest in working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Strong interest in learning more about parenting, infant development, group work and related human services.
  • High school level of education or higher.
  • Experience with infants and toddlers.
  • Experience working with teens and young adults.
  • Experience working with parents in a strengths-based model a plus.
