Description

  • Provide one to one coaching to set and achieve economic mobility goals.
  • Assess and document participants’ progress including entries into CWU’s electronic data tracking system (ETO).
  • Develop curriculums and teach classes and workshops on access to higher education, career planning and other economic mobility related topics.
  • Offer guidance and expertise regarding financing education and managing student loan debt.
  • Provide basic counseling and resources to students and assist them in overcoming barriers to accessing post-secondary education/training or attaining employment.
  • Form relationships with alumnae and support their progress towards economic self-sufficiency.
  • Research best practices for evolving the Economic Mobility Institute.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships and opportunities with education and job training providers.
  • Prepare reports as required by program director and supervisor.
  • Deliver services across a variety of settings (office, community, home-based) and locations (Boston and Metro Boston).
  • Consult and collaborate with peers/colleagues throughout the organization.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other events and programs of Crittenton Women’s Union and partner organizations.
  • Other activities as required to ensure the stability and growth of Crittenton Women’s Union.

Required Skills

  • College Degree Required. BA strongly preferred, AA with significant experience considered.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with strong abilities in Microsoft Office.
  • Fantastic team player who enjoys working closely with others and can lead as well as follow
  • Prior experience in adult education development and training preferred.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse clientele and to build strong relationships across organizational departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to keep up to date with the current labor market situation in Massachusetts as well as adjust to changes as needed.
  • A demonstrated commitment to working in a social service setting and with a diverse population.
  • Experience teaching or facilitating workshops.
  • Experience in a higher education setting – a plus.
  • Experience transitioning adults to college – a plus.
  • Self-motivated, extremely hard working and dedicated and willing to partner with other staff members to produce excellent results for participants.
  • Humor and positive attitude a must.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.  Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and eye sight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.  Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful and fast paced at times.
