| The college currently allocates nine (9) classrooms
for computer instruction. These rooms (303, 319, 325,
345, 349, and 351) are each equipped with approximately
twenty (20) networked computers and a networked printer;
for the exception of 351 the Academic Computing Center
(ACC) whish is a state of the art wireless lab with thirty
one (31) systems. Assessment uses 307 and 309 at various
times of the year for student testing and evaluation.
For each of the seven computer classrooms used for instruction,
a schedule is posted outside that indicates when the
room is being used for a class.
The Academic Computing Center is open Monday through
Friday, 9am to 8pm. The Center is closed during holidays
and between semester break, and will go on reduced
hours during the summer months. Ultimately, these hours
will be adjusted, as need dictates.
The Center is staffed by 2 contract personnel, work-study
students, or RCC computer science interns; that insure
day and evening coverage. The center staff requests
that all incoming users display a valid RCC Student
ID for access. Non-students will be directed to use
the Timothy Smith lab in 106.
Center staff is responsible for assisting students
with applications, maintaining the hardware, and managing
the printing process.
