The GED Office is moving!

About the GED Exam
The GED Diploma is the equivalent of a high school diploma. There are five parts to the GED exam: Writing; Social Studies; Science; Literature and the Arts; and Mathematics. You must pass all five tests in order to earn the diploma. More information about the exams is available here: http://www.doe.mass.edu/ged/geninfo.html

GED Test Registration
You can register for exams on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS from 10am-1pm OR 4pm-7pm.
Hours may vary during holidays and in the summer; please call ahead to confirm.
You need to bring:
- a government-issued photo ID with a signature—a license or permit, passport, or state ID. School IDs are NOT acceptable.
- If you are under 18, you must present a letter of withdrawal from your last school of attendance.
- Payment is due at time of registration. See Testing Fees below.
Testing Fees
- $65 for first time testers.
- Retests are $15.00 per test.
- Payments must be made by money order. We cannot accept cash or checks. Money orders can be made out to ‘RCC-GED.’
- DTA clients are eligible to receive GED Testing Vouchers from their case managers. If you have a new voucher, you must bring it with you when you come to sign up for exams.
- No-Show Fees are $25.00 per day of testing. This fee is charged if you miss an exam without calling to cancel. You may call to cancel any test appointment before the test, and can reschedule at no charge.
Accommodations for Disabilities

GED TRANSCRIPTS AND VERIFICATION
If you need an additional copy of your official transcript, you must submit a written request.
You can download our Transcript Request form here.
(If you are not sure what year you took the exam, that’s ok. Put a range of years: for example, “1992-1995.”)There is a $7.00 fee for each additional transcript, payable by money order only.
Money orders should be made out to ‘RCC-GED.’
