About the GED Exam
The GED Diploma is the equivalent of a high school diploma. There are five parts to the GED exam: Writing; Social Studies; Science; Literature and the Arts; and Mathematics. An examinee must earn a minimum score of 410 on each individual test, an average of 450 on all five tests, and a total score of 2250 points to pass.

GED Official Testing Policy
The GED exam costs $65 (payable by money order only) for first time testers. Individual exams and retests are $15.00. You can find all Massachusetts GED fees, rules, and requirements by visiting the Department of Education at: http://www.doe.mass.edu/ged/

GED TRANSCRIPTS
Official transcripts are automatically issued to testers once they have completed and passed all five tests. If you need an additional copy of your official transcript, you must either a) mail a written request to the GED Office or b) come to the office and fill out a request form. If you send a request, include your name, date of birth, Social Security number, and the year/month in which you took the test. There is a $7.00 fee for each additional transcript, payable by money order only. |

GED CLASSES
Preparation classes are offered to students who wish to improve their skills before taking the GED. These classes are offered in two sections: Mathematics and Literature. Thr GED Literature class includes instruction in four areas of the GED: Literature; Science; Social Studies; and Writing. |

$120.00 for the Literature class only
(+$10.00 registration fee)= $130.00
$120.00 for the Mathematics class only
(+$10.00 registration fee)= $130.00
$250.00 for both classes
Financial Aid and Vouchers
There is no financial aid for GED classes.
Transitional Assistance and Mass Rehab vouchers are accepted for GED Classes and GED Tests.
