DEGREE: ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE
The Program offers students an academic foundation in Criminal Justice combined with an emphasis on a real world understanding of the field. The curriculum is designed to encourage academic excellence while incorporating the college's commitment to cultural education, strengthening the community and educating Criminal Justice professionals who are sensitive to the needs and concerns of people of color. Courses in the major include Introduction to Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Operations and Criminal Law. Other Program courses, including English, Humanities, Mathematics and Social Sciences are designed to facilitate transfer to four-year Programs. POLICIES
Pre-College and Remedial Work for Credit Toward Graduation
Consistent with that of the College, it is the policy of the Criminal Justice Program NOT to give credits toward graduation for pre-college level or remedial work designed to prepare the student for college study.
Transfer Credit
Consistent with that of the College, it is the policy of the Criminal Justice Program to accept only credits from regionally accredited institutions of higher education for transfer into the program.
Academic Credits for Life Experience
It is the policy of the Criminal Justice Program NOT to award any academic credits for life experience, nor for military, police academy, or other training.
Knowledge-Based Examinations such as CLEP
It is the policy of the Criminal Justice Program that not more than ten (10) percent of degree requirements are completed through knowledge-based examinations such as CLEP.
Block Transfer Credits
It is the policy of the Criminal Justice Program NOT to award block transfer credits for graduation.

The Quinn Bill encourages police officers in participating municipalities to earn degrees in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, enhancing their personal and professional development.
