ROXBURY COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION:
THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO RAISE FUNDS FROM PRIVATE
SOURCES TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE STUDENTS
OF ROXBURY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS, PROJECTS
AND ACTIVITIES THAT BENEFIT BOTH THE COLLEGE AND ITS STUDENTS.
From its beginning in 1983, the Foundation has had as one
of its absolute goals the establishment and building of an
endowment, the earnings from which would be used to provide
financial support and assistance to the College, her students
and faculty.
The Foundation is an independent organization, fiscally separate
from the College, organized and operated exclusively for the
benefit of Roxbury Community College and the furtherance of
the education of its students. The Board of Trustees of the
College certified the Foundation as the official foundation
and sole fundraising agent for the College.
The Board of Directors of the Foundation, composed of business,
education, cultural and civic leaders, are non-compensated
volunteers, each lending her or his expertise and time.
Along with seeking to raise funds from private sources, the
Board manages the investment portfolio of the Foundation, which
includes an endowment, and administers gifts and provides services
to donors and to the College.
The Foundation is exempt from Federal income taxes as a non-profit
organization formed for charitable purposes under Section 501(c)
(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donors may deduct contributions
made to the Foundation within the requirements of the Internal
Revenue Code.
