The Cornish Project: An Apron Full of Beans Premieres in February
February 28 Noon at Boston Latin Academy
February 29 7 PM Mainstage at Roxbury Community College
March 1 6:30 PM Rabb Hall Boston Public Library-Copley Square

Boston Poet Laureate Sam Cornish joins forces with Roxbury Repertory Theater to create a moving performance piece from selected poems and prose.  Gathered from his collection An Apron Full of Beans, the Company sets Cornish’s eloquent witty and thought provoking words to movement and music.  The poetry touches on voices past and addresses the poet’s thoughts on family, race, music, and civil rights among other topics. Woven together as echoes of ancestors and experiences, Roxbury Repertory Theater has created a thought-provoking quilt that gives a glimpse of African American experiences. The stories are told through a multi-racial cast that includes the company’s core actors as well as invited artists from the Greater Boston Community.
Cornish and Director Marshall Hughes believe the power of words should be shared by all, and will premiere the run at Boston Latin Academy. The show then moves to Mainstage at Roxbury Community College and Rabb Hall at the Boston Public Library. The performances are free of charge and sponsored in part by The Friends of the Arts at Roxbury Community College.
