Series Description and Scope
This series documents the activities of Acuerdo, the official collegial governance. Resting on the principle and Spanish term for "community consensus," the purpose of Acuerdo is "to provide a means for for institutional governance that will allow all College constituencies to participate in an advisory capacity to the President and Board of Trustees on issues of policy that may affect the institution in part or whole in carrying out its mission to the internal and external community in the present and in the future," (Changes to Consider for the Acuerdo)*. Acuerdo is comprised of twelve standing committees, which serve as data and opinion gathering groups for the Acuerdo and correspond to different planning needs. The series, dated 1978 through 2006, includes memos, minutes, mission statements,curriculum proposals, curriculum syllabi, and reports. Please note that the print Archive contains Committee Minutes prior to 2007 and is incomplete. 2007 Committee Minutes and beyond are retained electronically by the Archivist. Please see the Archivist for access.
