• Streaming Video is now avaiable online for Nursing students

• Online registration and payments are available to students

• Implementation of a full Backup Disaster Recovery (BDR) solution that will save the College thousand of dollars.

• Microsoft Office Outlook Exchange e-mail, for faculty use, has been upgraded to the latest version (2007) with security features

• Through a partnership with Microsoft, students and faculty can download up $ 3,000.00 worth of software per user for free. Student can also get Microsoft Certifications for free through the same partnership. The combined software download and certification is worth $ 10,000.00 per user.

• EZproxy has been installed to make it easier to sign in to the library databases

• Through partnerships with Bentley University and Hewlett-Packard (HP), the IT Department made 40 Laptops available to students for free. The RCC single Physical Network has been segmented into 3 Virtual Local Area Networks (Administrative – Labs – Wi-Fi).

• The Administrative Network provides access to all network resources such as, network drives, outlook e-mail, MyRCC, Jenzabar, advisingtools, Citrix and Internet access

• The Labs Network will provide access to all Internet services, including e-mail and MyRCC

• There are two types of Wi-Fi access on campus. (1.) Free Wi-Fi Access: The free Wi-Fi will be accessible to anyone with a computer equipped with a Wi-Fi network card.  Internet browsing is the only resource that will be available to users on the Free Wi-Fi.  This service is avaiable to students, faculty, staff and people from the community. (2.) Restricted Wi-Fi Access:  Faculty and staff will be prompted to enter a password to login to the restricted Wi-Fi.  Once logged in, they will have access to all network resources (e.g., network drives, outlook e-mail, MyRCC, Jenzabar, advisingtools, Citrix and Internet access).
