Workforce Development On-campus and Online
The Roxbury Community College’s Division of Continuing Education offers a wide range of courses and programs for all members of your family. On weeknights, sign up for a training in Medical Billing or any other medical related programs. We also offer a Real Estate course for licensure and a fast growing Mortgage Banking program. You can choose to enroll in our Apartment Management or Building Maintenance certificate programs or any of our computer technology courses which are hands-on and which help you become more efficient at the workplace.
Cant’ leave the house? Courses are now being offered online. Become a Certified Medical Coding Specialist or a Medical Transcriptionist while taking courses online and in the comfort of your home. The Division of Continuing Education offers various other online courses, such as Medical Terminology, Medical Billing, Medical Coding and Advanced Coding ICD-9 and CPT. In addition, you may prepare yourself in just four weeks for the National Certification Exam offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Finally, you can enhance your personal growth by becoming bilingual; learn Spanish, American Sign Language, Arabic, or French. Those who wish to learn or improve their English skills are encouraged to sign up for the Community ESL courses offered in the morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend. These English as a Second Language courses will help develop your reading, writing, and conversational skills.
Kids to College & College for Seniors
On week nights and on Saturdays, enroll your child in the Kids to College program, which aims at enhancing their intellectual, artistic, behavioral, and physical growth and development. Our Sunset College on week nights offers you, the parent, an opportunity to attend evening classes at RCC while your child is enrolled in one or more of the Kids to College courses. These courses emphasize on their academic and computer skills, as well as teaching them a new language. We also offer courses conveniently for seniors: Internet for Seniors and Yoga on Saturdays. Saturday courses that are available to you range from Computers to Real Estate and other programs capable of helping you develop your skills for a career or to enhance your own personal growth and development.
